Four Lions Earn PSUAC Honors
Monaca, PA -- Four Baseball players earn PSUAC post season honors.
After winning the PSUAC Championship, four Beaver Baseball players were selected for post-season honors.
Sophomore, Stephen Antolic (Freedom, PA / Ambridge), was named First Team All-Conference as well as the Newcomer of the Year. Antolic led the conference with a batting average of .437 as well as RBI's with 44. He also finished second in home runs with 5 on the season.
Sophomore, Jake Debo (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) also earned First Team All-Conference honors with a batting average of .376 and finishing fourth overall in RBI's with 37 and also tallying 5 homeruns. From the mound, he had an ERA of 5.11 and finished tied for fourth in the conference in strikeouts with 32.
Senior, Ty Thellman (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) was named PSUAC All-Conference Second Team with a batting average of .331 as well as 17 RBI's. He was solid in the field as well with a fielding percentage of .931 overall.
Finally, junior, Nick Casasanta (Moon Twp, PA / Moon) was also named PSUAC All-Conference Second Team with a batting average of .387 and 32 RBI's which landed him in the top 5 for that statistical category. From the mound he finished in 7th among pitchers with an ERA of 4.08, but was in second place in the conference in strikeouts with 39 on the year.
These young men will help lead their team to the USCAA National Tournament during the week of May 8th in Glens Falls, NY.
