The Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball Program and Coach Brian Bibey are excited to welcome Dermotti Welling to the program.
The 6"8' center from Lincoln Park High School has recently completed an outstanding senior season where he helped his team achieve a record of 25-5 and an appearance in the state semi-finals.
An accomplished shot blocker and rebounder, this local big man also is able to contribute on the offensive end of the floor through an array of post moves and athleticism. Furthermore, Dermotti has the ability and athleticism to run the floor and score on the fast break.
When asked what he is looking forward to most, Dermotti said "To start something new with my new family."
Coach Brian Bibey had this to say about Dermotti:" We are extremely excited to add someone with the skill set that Dermotti possess to our program. His presence on the floor changes the game. However, the thing that we like most about him is his mentality towards whatever it is he is doing. While getting to know Dermotti, he has shown the desire to not only be a great basketball player but also a great student and person. We feel like he is going to step into our program and really blossom."
