Markel Sayles of Perry to attend Beaver in the Fall
Sayles has committed to continuing his education and basketball career at the Beaver Campus.
The Penn State Beaver Men's Basketball Program is proud to announce that Markel Sayles from Perry High School (Pittsburgh, Pa) has committed to continuing his education and basketball career at the Beaver Campus.
Known as a well-rounded player and prolific scorer, the 6"1' guard averaged 26.3 points per game his senior season which made him one of the leading scorers in the area. On top of that, Markel also averaged 5.2 rebounds per game and 1.2 assists per game.
An honor roll student, Markel exclaimed that what he is most looking forward to is "the Penn State Experience, improving my game, meeting new people and the small class sizes."
Men's Basketball Coach Brian Bibey states that "Markel has a ton talent and a lot of potential to go with it. The thing that sets him apart in my mind is his demeanor on the floor. He leads by example and has the ability to stay calm regardless of the game situation."
