Women's Basketball Announces 1st Committed Athlete for 2016-17.
Coach Moore and the Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball Program is proud to announce his first recruit for the 2016 class in Mikala Misleany from Blairsville High School, Pa. "Mikala is the earliest commit that our program has ever received and we are very excited about it. She is one of those players that every coach hopes to get in a program. Mikala is a gritty player who plays much larger than she really is. She has a positive attitude, does all the little things, and has been very well coached throughout her high school career" says Coach Moore.
Mikala has been playing basketball for nine years. When she was asked why she chose Penn State Beaver Mikala stated "I chose Penn State Beaver because they are a smaller school which fit's my lifestyle best and they have my major that I am interested in." Athletically Mikala says "I chose to continue my athletic career at Penn State Beaver because they have an amazing team and a great coach; I can't wait to be a part of it."
Aside from basketball Mikala enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, hanging out with friends and casual hooping with her dad. Other sports that Mikala has been involved in over the years are: cheerleading, swimming, volleyball, and softball.
