Beaver begins their season 0-3 after a tough opening weekend
The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions Volleyball Team played their second game today in the USCAA Tip Off. Beaver hosted Penn State Dubois, Greater Allegheny, Fayette, Kent State Tuscarawas, UC Clermont, Christendom, Miami University, Carlow University, and J&W Charlotte.
In their fight against Penn State Fayette, they dropped 3-0. In their first two sets, Beaver was overthrown 25-13. In their third set, they fought hard keeping the score neck and neck. Unfortunately, Beaver could not overcome and lost 26-24. Player of the game, first-year Leisetta Martin (Hobson, MT), had 3 kills on 6 attempts, 6 digs, and 2 blocking assists. Three other noticeable players helping Beaver in their fight against Fayette were Senior Breann King (Houston, PA) with 3 kills on 3 attempts, first-year Daniela Guzman who had 3 kills on 16 attempts, and senior Chelsey Masjaun (Pembroke Pines, FL) who had 2 digs, 1 kill, and 1 blocking assist.
After todays match, the Lady Lions are now 0-3 to begin the season. They will be taking on Regent University and Christendom at Christendom College on Saturday September 10 at 1:30 and 3:00 pm.
