Penn State Beaver Volleyball Wins 3 at PSUAC Cross Over Event

State College, PA-  The Penn State Beaver volleyball team had some success at the PSUAC Cross Over event on Sunday.  The Lady Lions took down Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, and Lehigh Valley, all by the score of 3-0.

Penn State Wilkes Barre didn't come close to dominating Penn State Beaver in all 3 sets. Penn State Wilkes Barre scored 7 in the first set and 9 in the other sets. Chelsey Masjuan (Pembroke Pines, FL) had 5 kills for Beaver and Clarissa Cook (Woodstock, VA) had 5 digs. Tatum Clayton (Houston, PA) collected 7 saves for Penn State Beaver. Penn State Beaver dominated the game and had 21 aces!

Penn State Beaver did great against Penn State Scranton; Maria Slater (Houston, TX) had 8 kills, Breann King (Houston, PA) had 6 digs, and Heaven Bowman (Houston, TX) had 4 saves. Beaver was able to bring in 11 aces and 21 digs against Scranton.  #4, #5, #6, #14, #15 each had 1 block for Penn State Beaver. 

Penn State Lehigh Valley came close to Penn State Beaver in the 1st set and in the 3rd set by bringing in 23 points for each set. Lehigh Valley fell short in the 2nd set by only coming up with 13 points. Heaven Bowman had 8 saves for Penn State Beaver and she also was able to secure 7 digs. Penn State Beaver had 35 digs overall against Penn State Lehigh Valley and 17 aces. Penn State Beaver's hitting for this matchup was 53%. Breann King and Katarina McCall (North Port, FL) both had 3 kills.  


With the wins, Beaver now sits at 5-12 overall and 2-5 in the PSUAC.  The team returns to action on Wednesday, October 13th, when they travel to 1st place PSU Greater Allegheny.  Gametime is set for 7 p.m. Go Beaver!
