Volleyball wins PSUAC opener at Penn State Dubois
Beaver defeats Dubois 3-0
Dubois, PA -- The Lady Lions win their first PSUAC game of the 2014 season by a score of 3-0.
In their first conference game of the season, Beaver traveled to Penn State Dubois where they cruised to a 3-0 victory. In the first set, Beaver made several unforcred errors, but was able to pull off the 25-10 victory. In the second and third sets they found their stride as they went on to win 25-7 and 25-3 respectively.
In the match Beaver was lead by junior, Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/Freedom) who put up 12 aces from the service line followed by sophomore, Gabriella Disla (San Juan, PR/La Piedad) who added 7 on the night. Serving was the strong point for Beaver in the match as all servers tallied at least one ace. At the net Beaver capitalized their opportunities as well as they were led by freshman, Mackenzie Keller (Conway, PA/Freedom) with 6 kills. Three other players also added 3 kills a piece.
Beaver now sits at 4-4 overall and 1-0 in the PSUAC. They return to action Tuesday, September 16th when they travel to Penn State New Kensington for a 7:00pm start.
