Lady Lions Sweep Worthington-Scranton
Beaver hits the road and takes a win
Lehman, PA- The Penn State Beaver Womens Volleyball team (9-10, 8-4 PSUAC) hit the road in a match against Penn State Worthington-Scranton sweeping them and taking the match 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12).
Beaver took the first set 25-17 with great play by Rachel Grubbs (Freeport/Sarver, PA) Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) and Jenn Fannin (Harbor Creek/Erie, PA). Not giving Scranton much of a chance to catchup.
Their great play from the first set carried over into the second set with Beaver easily winning 25-15.
The third set was much like the first, with Beaver taking the win 25-12. The Lady Lions never gave Scranton much of a chance to comeback the entire game.
For the match, Grubbs and Ward led the team with 8 kills a piece. Fannin contributed 5 digs, Ward and Amanda Palombo (Quigley/Aliquippa, PA) with 1 block each, and Grubbs with 10 assists.
Beaver will face PSUAC rival Wilkes-Barre later on today.
