Lady Lions Win Two PSUAC Matches

Dunmore, PA - On Friday, Sept. 11, the Penn State Beaver Lady Lions volleyball team travelled to Penn State Worthington-Scranton where they won a PSUAC double-header against WS, 25-11, 25-10, and 25-9, and Penn State Wilkes-Barre, 25-9, 25-13, and 25-8.
Against Worthington Scranton, senior Jen Hain (Northgate High School, Pittsburgh, PA) led Beaver with 14 assists and 6 digs. Junior Heather Sandusky (New Brighton High School, New Brighton, PA) added 7 kills.
Beaver's success over Scranton carried over into its match against Wilkes-Barre. The Lady Lions did not allow Wilkes-Barre to come within 10 points of the final score, and won three straight sets. Taking its second win of the night, Beaver defeated its competition 25-9, 25-13 and 25-8.
Hain contributed 14 assists and 3 digs, while Sandusky and Freshman Michelle Fegan (Quigley/Conway, PA) each added 7 kills.
On Saturday, Sept. 12th at 2pm. Beaver travels to Penn College (Williamsport, PA) in hopes to remain undefeated in the PSUAC. With its wins over Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, the Lions are 3-0 (4-6 overall).
