Lady Lions Volleyball Team Defeats PS Greater Allegheny

McKeesport, PA - On Saturday, Sept. 19 the Penn State Beaver Lady Lions volleyball team stretched their PSUAC winning streak to 6-0 when they traveled to and defeated Penn State Greater Allegheny (McKeesport, PA), 25-12, 25-8, and 25-8.
In the first set, Beaver took charge when sophomore Jessica Campbell (Beaver Falls High School, Beaver Falls, PA) and freshman Michelle Fegan (Quigley Catholic High School, Conway, PA) contributed several quick aces for the win.
The success in the second and third sets was due largely to several assists by freshman Shannon Faix (Brentwood High School, Pittsburgh, PA). Due to injuries, senior Jen Hain (Northgate High School, Pittsburgh, PA) and sophomore Katie Landis (Rochester High School, Rochester, PA) were unable to play.
In the win, Campbell and Fegan each had 9 aces, Faix recorded 15 assists and 2 digs, and junior Heather Sandusky (New Brighton High School, New Brighton, PA) added 9 kills.
The Lady Lions are 6-0 in the PSUAC and 7-6 overall. They will host Penn State Fayette at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22.
