Lady Lions Roll on Senior Day
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball down New Kensington 86-46 on Senior Day.
Monaca, PA- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions returned home for senior day on Saturday. Fourth years Alison Boykins(Canton,OH) , Aaliyah Booker (Atlanta, GA), Katie Miller (Naples, FL), Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) and Kyra Seggewiss (Calgary Alberta, Canada) were honored today. Along with that all 5 of our honored seniors were also our starting five within todays game.
Fourth year Kierra Seggewiss (Calgary Alberta, Canada), who suffered a season ending knee injury, started her final game and scored her final points with the first bucket of the game. Beaver's defense was stingy from the beginning, holding New Kensington to 10 first quarter points.From there they kept that momenteum up By halftime, Beaver build a 39-23 lead and never looked back.
Fourth year Aaliyah Booker (Atlanta, GA) scored 21 points, hitting 6 threes from behind the arc. Fourth year Boykins (Canton, OH) added 14 and second year Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) added 13 points. Along with a strong defense from first year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX), who grabbed 7 boards an dished out 8 assists.
With the victory, Beaver sits at 17-0 in the PSUAC adn 18-6 overall. They have clinched the #1 seed in the west. They have two more contests next week; Tuesday 2/20 when they host 2nd place Penn State Shenango and Friday 2/23 when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny.
