The Lions Continue to Dominate in Conference Play
The Lions remain undefeated so far in conference play after a big win over Penn State York
York, PA - The Lions have had a great start to conference play defeating ever team they have faced, and they continued that streak tonight after a huge win over Penn State York.
Beaver started off the game scoring the first basket. aAthough York responded with two made free throws, Beaver went on an 8-0 run to gain an 8 point lead. Beaver kept this lead for the entire first quarter, and by the end of the first ten minutes the score was 17-9.
The second quarter began in York's favor when they scored the first basket. Beaver responded with another 8-0 run to gain a early 14 point lead. Beaver kept this lead, and continued to extend it. With just over 4 minutes remaining in the quarter, the Lions had a 18 point lead over York. Beaver did not stop there, and by the end of the second quarter, the Lions would go into halftime with a 45-20 lead over York.
The Lions continued to dominate in the last 20 minutes of the game. The Lions backed off a bit, but continued to run up the score. Half way through the third quarter, the Lions were up by 30 points. They did not stop there and the third quarter ended with Beaver up 61-26. York was able to score more points in the fourth quarter, and Beaver continued to have fun and work on executing offenses. Beaver would close out another conference game with a win, defeating York 73-37.
First year Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) was the top scorer for Beaver finishing with 23 points. Siegfried went 7-11 from the three point line and 50% from the field. Siegfried also finished with 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Second year Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Fourth year's Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) and Katie Miller (Naples, FL) were the top rebounders tonight with O'Hara having 10 and Miller having 9. Second year Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX) finished with 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
