Lady Lions drop non-conference game at Bethany
Beaver falls to DIII Bethany College, 91-76.
Bethany, WV -- The Lady Lions traveled to Bethany, West Virginia to face the Bisons on the road in a non-conference match-up.
In the opening minutes of the game, Bethany jumped out to an early lead and slowly gained the advantage on the Lady Lions taking a ten point lead (17-7) on a 3 point shot at 11:26. Three short minutes later, Beaver rallied to get within one (20-19), but that is as close as they would get to tying the game as the Bisons made four 3-point shots in the last 7 minutes of the half to take a commanding 12 point lead into halftime (48-36).
In the second half, Beaver had a hard time finding their rhythm, but did get the game as close as 11 points (67-78), however their push wasn't enough to over come Bethany on the road. Despite the offensive efforts of Khalia Adams (Washington, DC/Phelps) who had 17 points, Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA/Westinghouse) with 16 points and Brittany Mineard (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) who had 13 points, the Lady Lions fell by a final score of 91-76 making their overall record 1-4.
Beaver will play their last game in November on Tuesday night as they host county rival Geneva College at 6:00PM.
