Lady Tigers Hand Lady Lions Second Straight Loss
Strong second half from Salem too much for Beaver

Monaca, PA- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver (13-8, 10-3 PSUAC) played an out of conference game this evening against the Lady Tigers of Salem International University (Salem, WV).
Amanda Temple (Avella/Avella, PA) put the Lady Lions on the board first as the opening minutes of the first half were very close. Brooke Mulneix (Riverside/Beaver Falls, PA) gave Beaver a 5-4 lead with 15:02 left in the first half. Salem quickly took the lead back going on a 10-7 run. Kalynn Hill (Montour/Pittsburgh, PA) tied the game at 16 however with 7:11 left in the half. Despite their efforts, Beaver trailed going into halftime 27-19.
The Lady Tigers of Salem opened up the second half with a 12-5 run before Temple free throws stopped the momentum. Beaver tried to keep up with Salem, but unfortunately fell to the Lady Tigers 59-40.
Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool/East Liverpool, OH) lead the Lady Lions for the evening with 11 points, followed by Temple with 10. Mulneix lead the team with 12 rebounds as well. The Lady Lions shot a season lo 19.4% from the field, 20% from three point range, and 54.5% from the free throw line.
The Lady Lions next game will be at home this Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1 p.m against Penn State Greater Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). Free Penn State Beaver key tags will be given away to those in attendance.
