Beaver suffers loss against Bethany
Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver takes on Bethany in an at home game. The team sufferes a loss to Bethany. Due to this they now have a 6 game losing streak. The team wasn't able to find their groove within this game. As the season continues there is hope for the young team to find their grove.
Starting off the game on the mound was fourth year Ricardo Elizondo Jr. (Los angeles, CA). Bethany had a hot bat the first inning driving in three runs. While Beaver struggled to find their groove. Within the second inning Beaver changed their pitcher having first year Kairu Fujinuma (Saitama, Japan). Yet with this pitcher change they were unfourtanetly not able to shake up Bethany as they went on to score another run in the second and third inning. Putting the overall score at 5- 0 with Bethany in the lead. Throughout this time Beaver never gave up on showing one another encouragement and doing their best to fight throughout the game.
As they went into the fourth inning first year Cameron Burrow (Kannapolis, NC) came to in to pitch for first year Andrew Kristiansen (Sparta, NJ) who pitched within the third inning. Within the fourth inning both teams did not score. Going into the fifth inning Bethany scored 2 more run. While beavers own second year Philip Betz (Merrieta, CA) capitalizing with a huge double having the only Beaver hit of the day. For the rest of the game Bethany continued to score more runs. Ending the game within seven innings with a final score of 11- 0 with Bethany for the win.
Although Beaver is starting off in a rough patch, there is still hope for the young team as the continue on in their season. Penn State Beaver Baseball is set to play again March 22 as they hit the road to play against Penn State Greater Allegheny. Kepp up with the team on beaverathletics.com.
