Uniontown, PA - Following a Day 1 split which gave Beaver their first win of the year, they traveled to Penn State Fayette for another double-header. Only this time things did not end in a split.
The first game saw Fayette jump out to an early 8-0 lead through 2 innings of play. After that Beaver battled back in tyhe 3rd and 4th innings by collecting 5 runs making the score 8-5 heading into the bottom of the 4th inning. Fayette answered answered with another 8 runs in the 4th and 5th innings leading to a an early end to game one with the final score being 16-6. Beaver was out hit 16-4 and each side had 3 errors. Right fielder Joseph Barile earned 2 RBI's in the contest followed RBI's from secondbasemen Tylik Rouse, left fielder Nicholas Campbell, and shortstop Christopher Cann each having 1 a piece.
Heading into the second game, both team came out hot with Beaver having an ealry lead of 7-6 heading into the 4th inning. Beaver left fielder, Nicholas Campbell, notched 4 RBI's off of 3 hits to jumpstart Beaver's offensive assault. However, after the 3rd inning Fayette took control and scored 11 runs between the 4th, 5th, and 5th innings. Beaver did their best to keep pace but it was not enough as they fell short, losing 17-9.
Errors continue to be a struggle for Beaver, their kryptonite, which is a major reason they struggle to close games out. Beaver will look to improve and continue to get better as the season continues on.
