6 Student-Athletes named to PSUAC All-Conference Teams
6 students named to PSUAC All-Conference teams
Monaca, PA - This fall 6 student-athletes were named to the PSUAC All-Conference team of their sport. For Beaver the PSUAC All-Conference selections consist of at least one student athlete from every participating sport.
Men's Soccer:
Mishael Garcia (Los Angeles, CA) was named 1st team for men's soccer this year after an impressive season. Scoring 24 goals out of the teams 93 and having an impressive 9 assist, the highest amount on the team, Mishael is a leader going into the USCAA National Tournament. This is his second 1st team award from the PSUAC after receiving awards in 2019.
Jake Ross (Munhall, PA) was also named as a 1st team player for the PSUAC. This is Ross's first PSUAC award for this great offensive play. This year Ross had 14 goals, 2 assists, and went 2-2 with penalty kicks this season. He has been a great player to have on the field for Beaver, and will continue push his offense forward and battle for the USCAA National title.
Nadeem Shakshir (Jerusalem) is a PSUAC 2nd team winner this season for the Lions. The freshman, midfielder had 14 goals and 7 assists, making him a threat on the field to any defense. Nadeem had 2 game winning goals for his team as well this season allowing them to finish the regular season 12-6 and push them into the USCAA National Tournment this fall.
Andrew Bollinger (Chippewa,PA) was named 2nd team for the PSUAC this year for his work in the backfield. As a defender for Beaver, Andrew was key in keeping their opponents low scoring. Facing tough competition this year Andrew was able to secure his first PSUAC award.
Ethan Paxton (Freedom, PA) is an honorable mention winner for the PSUAC this season. With 7 goals and 2 assists the junior was a powerful player for the Beaver line-up. He was able to also go 1-1 on penalty kicks this season and had 1 game winning goal.
Angel Patino (Pittsburgh, PA) is the John Fritz Sportsmanship award winner from the Beaver Men's Soccer team this year. This is an award dedicated to a player that shows sportsmanship like conduct and exemplifies what it means to be a PSUAC student-athlete. Patino played in 18 games, starting 7 and was able to assist his team while on the field with 3 goals and 2 assists.
Women's Volleyball:
Heaven Bowman (Houston, TX) was named an honorable mention for the PSUAC this year. The senior gets this award after 2 previous awards from the PSUAC and USCAA in 2019. This year, Bowman was able to record her 1000th dig for Beaver. She was a force on the court and a leader to the young team.
Tylai Smith (Birmingham, AL) is the recipient of the John Fritz Sportsmanship award. She has been a great addition to the Beaver team for 4 years and is a great teammate on and off the court. Tylai is a student-athlete that represent the best attributes of the PSUAC and Beaver athletics. She had 102 digs and 27 kills this year helping her team win some great matches.
Women's Soccer:
Valentina Sandoval (Miami, FL) won the John Fritz Sportsmanship award this season for the Beaver Women's Soccer team. She was a force on the field for Beaver and was a great leader for the team. Playing with passion and heart is a reason the team held together so strong. Valentina was able to play in 8 games, starting all 8, and get 2 shots off for the Lady Lions.
After an eventful fall season the PSUAC All-Conference teams are set. To the student-athletes winning awards a big congratulations is in order. As to all fall student-athletes, thank you for a wonderful season and we can't wait until next season! Go Lions!
