Week 21 Athlete of the Week
This week's Penn State Beaver Athlete of the Week is First-Year, Softball player, Kierstyn Mays. This week Mays played in 6 games which kicked off their PSUAC Conference play. Mays had 7 hits, 9 RBI's, 1 double, 2 homeruns and scored 3 runs. With those homeruns, Kierstyn was able to help her team secure 2 wins with a walk off homerun against Penn State Hazleton and a grandslam against Penn State Scranton. On the pitching side, Mays threw 15 innings, giving up 15 hits, having 7 strikeouts, and 5 earned runs. Also playing the field, Mays had 18 putouts with 0 errors and had 6 assists. The teamis now fully back and ready to take on the rest of the PSUAC this season. The team is currently 12-11 overally and 4-2 in conference and on a two win streak.
