Winning Streak Continues for Beaver as they Win First Road Game
Wilkes-Barre, PA - Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball was back in action today taking on Penn State Wilkes-Barre in their first road game of the season.
Going into today's game, Beaver was looking forward to continue their win streak to begin their season. Beaver came out strong in the first quarter scoring 19 points. Wilkes-Barre did not back down from the challenge and was able to score 14 points in the first quarter. Going into the second quarter, Beaver was able to keep their lead scoring13 points to Wilkes Barre's 8 points. At the half, Beaver was up by ten with the score at 32-22. Beaver picked t up in the third quarter scoring 22 points and only allowing Wilkes-Barre to score 5. In the fourth quarter, Beaver dropped another 19 points and allowed Wilkes-Barre to score 11. Wilkes-Barre was not able to make a comeback and Beaver traveled home with their fourth win of the season beating Wilkes-Barre 73-38.
Freshman Jada West (San Antonio, TX) helped lead Beaver in their win tonight finishing the game with 13 points 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. Sophomore Kiera Baker (Houston, TX) was also a key player in tonight's win having 16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Junior Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA), junior Alison Boykin (Canton, OH), junior Aaliyah Booker (Atlanta, GA), and junior Kyra Seggewiss (Calgary Alberta, Canada) were also key players in tonight's win against Wilkes-Barre. O'Hara finished the game with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 4 blocks. Boykin, 11 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Booker finished with 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Seggewiss finished the game with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
