Beaver wins first round of playoffs over Dubois 64-44
Lions take 20-point victory over Dubois 66-44
Monaca, PA - Beaver took on Penn State Dubois in their first matchup of the PSUAC Playoff Tournament. Coming into tonight's game, Beaver is seeded #2 and Dubois is seeded #7. The game started off with Beaver quickly getting things moving with a 3 pointer from Senior Jeremy Redwine. Dubois took the lead immediately following going up 8-3. The Lions swiftly turned the game back in their favor, taking a 10 point lead with 9:13 left in the half. Beaver maintained a large margin for the remainder of the half, finishing out 32-17. To start the second, Beaver came out clicking on all cylinders, increasing the margin to 21 points within 5 minutes of play, bringing the score to 38-17. Dubois finally caught a rhythm and brought the game with 12 points. Beaver remainder strong and continued to dominate as the Lions increased the lead back to 20 points to close out the game, winning 64-44.
Freshman Chris Green had 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Senior Jeremy Redwine had 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block. Senior Izaiah Dickerson had 13 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. Senior Devon Johnson had 10 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Senior Tre Johnson had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.
Following tonight's game, Beaver advances to the quarterfinals of the PSUAC Playoff Tournament. Beaver will be taking on the #4 seed Greater Allegheny on Monday, February 21, 2022.
