Fischer scores eight in loss to Beaver

Penn State Beaver 77, Penn State Mont Alto 30

Autumn Fischer scored a team-leading eight points on three of five shooting Friday evening as Penn State Mont Alto fell to Penn State Beaver 77-30. 

 

How It Happened

First Quarter

Penn State Beaver got out to a hot start converting on 7 of 18 shots. Penn State Mont Alto had a cold shooting period going only 1 of 7 in the first ten minutes. Kyra Seggewiss led all Beaver scorers with six in the first quarter and Kirsten Dell led Mont Alto with two points.

Second Quarter

Mont Alto had its best quarter in the second, recording twelve points as Autumn Fischer and Brooklyn Merryman each recorded four. Alison Boykin scored six points for Beaver. 

Third Quarter

Both teams went cold in the third quarter as Penn State Mont Alto shot 21.4% and Penn State Beaver shot 18.8%. 

Fourth Quarter

Beaver shot 61.5% on its way to winning the fourth quarter by a score of 21-9. Beaver's Kiera Baker had a team-high eight points in the final frame. 

 

Inside the Box Score

Mont Alto's Autumn Fischer had eight points and one rebound in 22 minutes of action. Brooklyn Merryman scored six points and also grabbed six rebounds in 18 minutes of action. Beaver's Jada West led all scorers with 14 points off the bench, Alison Boykin added 12 and Kyra Seggewiss had 10. Seggewiss also had six steals to go with five rebounds.

 

Turnovers loomed large for Penn State Mont Alto as Penn State Beaver forced 41 in the contest. Penn State Beaver scored 49 points off turnovers.
