Penn State Shenango closed out the regular season with a tough 71-67 loss to Penn State Beaver, despite several standout performances and a historic milestone. The Lions controlled much of the game but struggled offensively in the fourth quarter, scoring just seven points as Beaver rallied late. Hailee Aguinaga had a dominant night, recording 13 points and a game-high 17 rebounds while securing her 1,000th career rebound—a remarkable achievement in her collegiate career. Shar'Da Williamson also delivered an impressive double-double, finishing with 15 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals, while Jaysina Sellers added 12 points and four rebounds.
Shenango outrebounded Beaver 55-42, including 31 offensive boards, which gave them numerous second-chance opportunities. However, shooting woes proved costly, as the Lions shot just 32.1% from the field, 15.8% from beyond the arc, and 41.4% from the free-throw line. Despite their struggles at the line, the Lions' aggressive play kept them in the game, with key contributions from Azaria Bryant Franklin, who added nine points off the bench, and Gabrielle King, who went a perfect 3-for-3 from the field for six points.
With the loss, Penn State Shenango finishes the regular season at 15-8 overall and 13-4 in conference play. The Lions will enter the PSUAC playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the West Division and are set to host Penn State New Kensington on Monday night at 6 PM in the first round, aiming to start their postseason run on a high note.
