Volleyball sweeps Beaver at Home

Lemont Furnace, PA- Volleyball sweeps Penn State Beaver at home.

For Fayette Volleyball all of the pieces seemed to fall together effortlessly last night when they swept PSU Beaver at home (25-14,25-15,25-23).

Bella Buwawa had an incredible match with 13 kills and 8 total blocks. However, the most incredible stat of the night was her ability to achieve a hitting percentage of .500, making this her fourth time in hitting over 50% this season. Pasepa Buwawa had another incredible defensive match with 23 digs. Emma Eckert assisted the Fayette Nittany Lions to victory with 14 assists and 5 service aces, tying her career high against Penn State New Kensington.

Freshman setter, Emma Eckert spoke about the match, "[This] match felt different than most of our other close matches. It seems like when we play Beaver, we have a lot of fun because we love the way they challenge us. when our energy is up, so are our skills. We just need to keep it that way througout these last few weeks."

The last few weeks that Emma is referring to is their strive to take the second seed on the PSUAC West for the last bit of their season. If Fayette continues on a winning path, there is potential for a second place clinch heading into the PSUAC playoffs. Second seed could be big for the Fayette Nittany Lions because it creates a home court advantage.
