Softball Has A Day

The Penn State DuBois softball team started off the PSUAC playoff tournament on Friday with a big win over PSU Beaver.  Lizzy Scott, Skylar Ceprish, and Larissa James-LaBranche all had 2 RBI's each to get the offense going for DuBois.

Kelsey Stuart would get the win from the mound as she pitched a 6 and 1/3rd inning gem to defeat Beaver, 7-5.  The winner of this game would go on to the next round to face the #1 seeded team, PSU Brandywine.

Scott would start the game for DuBois, and get a strong 9 strikeouts.  DuBois came on strong in the 4th inning scoring 8 runs to take the lead.  Brandywine would battle back to take the game to extra innings, but Brianna Bone would have an outstanding day that would be the difference.  Not only would Bone hit for 4 RBI's that included a triple, but she would also come in for the final inning to allow only 1 hit, and get the save.

Stuart would go 4 for 5 from the plate in the game with 4 RBI's of her own.  Cayleigh Huffman would hit for a triple, and Jordan Bundy and Abby Pentz would go 2 for 3 from the plate as well.
