The first set saw Beaver fall behind early before storming back, running off 10 straight points. Shenango slowed the damage but couldn't rally back, dropping the set 25-14. Set 2 was a different story, however, as both teams traded points for most of the set. Beaver managed a 23-19 lead, but Shenango was not to be out-done, running off six straight points off of serves from Lydia Grove (Sharon, PA/Kennedy Catholic) to take the set 25-23. The third set, captured by Beaver, saw Shenango keeping it close but losing 25-20. The fourth and final set was more of a lopsided affair, with Beaver winning 25-14.
Kiara Varion (Greenville, PA/Greenville) led the team with 5 kills, while Ella Stewart (Meadville, PA/Meadville) led the team with 14 assists. The Lady Lions hit the road this weekend for a tri-match on Saturday at Waynesburg University against Hilbert College and the hosts, Waynesburg.
