Shenango Men Get Big Win at Rival Beaver

Shenango Men's Basketball earned a hard-fought 78-75 road victory over Penn State Beaver on Tuesday night, securing their third win of the season behind a strong offensive performance from D'Montez Owens. Owens led all scorers with 30 points, knocking down four three-pointers and going 8-for-9 from the free-throw line while also adding five rebounds and three steals.

The Lions found their rhythm from beyond the arc, shooting 42.9% from three-point range, including a red-hot 50% in the second half. Izzy Santiago and Danny Hughley III each contributed 12 points, with Hughley going a perfect 4-for-5 from deep. Cameron Brown added 10 points and six rebounds, while Devin Alston and Chris Williams provided key support off the bench.

Shenango controlled much of the first half, taking a 39-31 lead into the break, but Penn State Beaver surged back in the second half. Despite Beaver out-rebounding Shenango 46-35, the Lions' defensive pressure forced 16 turnovers, helping them hold on in the final minutes.

With the win, Penn State Shenango improves to 3-20 overall and 2-10 in PSUAC play. They will look to build on this momentum when they take the court again on Saturday at 3 PM against Penn State Greater Allegheny.
