Seven Honored at USCAA Basketball National Championship Banquet
Coach TIm Moore, John Foster, Diamond Thomas, Alexis Cross, Emily Keener, Jimya Chambers, and Kayla Womer, were all honored by the USCAA.
Delmont, PA - On Saturday, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association hosted their annual banquet for the 2020 National Tournament for both Division I and II Men's & Women's basketball tournament, at Seven Springs Resort. Seven from Penn State Beaver were recognized with post season awards.
Junior Guard, Diamond Thomas, and sophomore guard, Alexis Cross were both named USCAA First Team All-Americans. Diamond led the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game and 3.3 assists per game. Thomas was also named PSUAC All-conference (1st Team West) and West Player of the Year. Alexis Cross made a tremendous impact on the team, being the second leading scorer with 14.8points per game, and third leading rebounder with 5.4 rebounds per game.
Senior Gurard, John Foster, was named 2nd team USCAA All=American.
Additionally, sophomore guard, Emily Keener, and sophomore forwards, Jimya Chambers and Mikayla Womer received the Academic All-American awards for carrying over a 3.5 cummulative G.P.A.
Last but not least, Coach Tim Moore was named the USCAA Coach of the year for the 2019-2020 season. Moore led his team to a conference best record of 24-4, earning the #1 seed in the 2020 USCAA Small College basketball tournament, their highest seed in recent years
