Fall 2022 PSUAC Awards, 11 Student-Athletes Gain PSUAC Recognition this Fall
Monaca, PA - This fall, 11 student-athletes were named to PSUAC All-Conference Awards. For Beaver, All-Conference selections consist of at least one student-athlete from every participating sport.
Men's Soccer:
This year men's soccer had 4 players who received recognition from the PSUAC.
Nadeem Shakshir (Jerusalem) was named 1st team for men's soccer after an impressive season. Shakshir scored 14 goals this season out of the team's 43 goals, the highest amount on the team, and had 2 game-winning goals. This is his second year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award and first year making the PSUAC 1st team. Shakshir was also named as a USCAA Player of the Week this year.
Osarumwense Ehigiamusoe (Atlanta, GA) was named as this year's Defensive Player of the Year. Even as a defensive player, Ehigiamusoe still scored 2 goals this season. Ehigiamusoe played in 16 games this season and started in 15 of them.
Angel Patino (Pittsburgh, PA) is this year's recipient of the John Fritz Sportsmanship award. This award is dedicated to a player that shows sportsmanship like conduct and exemplifies what it means to be a PSUAC student-athlete. This is the second year in a row Patino received this award. Patino played 17 games this season, starting in 7 of them.
Jake Ross (Munhall, PA) is an Honorable Mention winner this fall. Playing 15 games this season and starting in 13 of them. Ross scored 4 goals and had 3 assists this season. This is his second year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award.
Women's Soccer
This year Women's Soccer had 5 players receiving awards from the PSUAC, the most on the Beaver Campus.
Theodora Sakkas (Beaver, PA) is the recipient of the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award. This award is given to a player that shows sportsmanship like conduct and exemplifies what it means to be a PSUAC student-athlete. This is her first year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award. Sakkas played in 10 games this season, starting in 8 of them.
Allison Van Kirk (West Mifflin, PA) was named 2nd team for the PSUAC this year for her hard as a defender. Even as a defensive player, Van Kirk was able to score 2 goals this season, with one of them being a game-winning goal. Van Kirk appeared in 12 games this season, starting in 11 of them. This is her first year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award.
McKenzie McIntosh (Uniontown, WA) was also named 2nd team this year. McIntosh scored 2 goals this season. She appeared in 11 games, starting in 10 of them. This is also her first year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award. McIntosh was also named a player of the week for the PSUAC this year.
Bailey Brown (Lexington, SC) was named 1st team for the PSUAC this year. Brown scored 1 goal this season and had 1 assist. She played in 12 games this season, scoring a starting spot in 10 of them. This is her first year receiving a PSUAC All-Conference Award.
Abigail Pereira (Hillside, NJ) was also named 1st team this year for her hard work both as a defender and midfielder. Pereria scored 2 goals this season. She appeared in 12 games this season, and scored a starting spot in 11 of them.
Volleyball
This year 2 Student-Athletes on the Volleyball Team received awards from the PSUAC.
Breann King (Houston, PA) is an Honorable Mention winner this year after an impressive season. King had 176 kills, 46 assists, 25 aces, 121 digs, 29 solo blocks, and 56 assisted blocks. She appeared in 24 games this season, scoring a starting spot in 21 of them. King had the second highest kills, solo blocks, and assisted blocks this season.
Ramiya White (Westland, MI) is this year's recipient of the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award. This is awarded to a player that shows sportsmanship like conduct and exemplifies what it means to be a PSUAC student-athlete. This is her first year receiving this award. White had 107 kills, 24 digs, 9 solo blocks, and 16 assisted blocks this season.
After am eventful fall season the PSUAC All-Conference teams are set. To the student-athletes winning awards, a big congratulations is in order. As to all the fall student-athletes, thank you for a wonderful season and we can't wait until next season! Go Lions!
