Lions Make a Comeback Against Pitt-Bradford
Bradford, PA - The Volleyball Team was back on the court today traveling to take on Pitt-Bradford. The Lions enter this game on a two game win streak, looking to keep it alive.
The first set was incredible. Both teams competed hard, remaining neck-in-neck. The set remained close, but ultimately Pitt-Bradford was able to pull out a 28-26 win. The second set was not the best for Beaver. Pitt-Bradford was able to take a 25-18 win.
Down two nothing, Beaver needed to pull out a win in the third set to keep the game going, and that is exactly what they did. Beaver was able to shut down Pitt-Bradofrd 25-20. Beaver forced a fourth set, needing to get another win in the fourth set in order to attempt to take home a win. Once again, that is exactly what they did. They took another 25-20 win over Bradford.
Forcing a fifth set, Beaver needed to get to 15 to take home the win over Pitt-Bradford. The set remained close, but it was Beaver who pulled out a 15-13 win over Bradford. Beaver travels home keeping there win streak alive.
First year Zoie Reid (Salem, OH) played a great game finishing with 8 kills, 2 assists, 18 digs, 3 solo blocks, and 2 assisted blocks. Second year Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX) finished with 7 kills. First year Sofia Perez () finished with 11 kills, 2 assists, and 7 digs. Second year Courtney Simpkins (Palm Bay, FL) finished with 5 kills, 29 assists, and 19 digs. First year Carley Harbrige (Chocowinty, NC) finished with 3 assists, 1 ace, and 20 digs.
They will be back in play for their first PSUAC Conference match-up against Penn State Greater Allegheny. The game begins at &pm EST on Tuesday September 12.
