Beaver falls to Carlow 3-1
Penn State Beaver hosted Carlow University on Thursday evening. Penn State Beaver fell to Carlow back in September and just couldn't pull through tonight.
Monaca, PA- The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team began the matchup with great energy and momentum. Beaver dominated the 1st set by being extremly vocal and working together as a team. They showed accountabilty in the 1st and 2nd set but shortly after started to fall behind Carlow.
Breann King (Houston, PA) led the game for Beaver by attacking Carlow with 8 kills, 11 assists and 19 digs. Heaven Bowman (Houston, TX) had 14 digs and Tylai Smith (Birmingham, AL) had 8 digs. Bowman and Smith played great defense for Beaver tonight. Penn State Beaver fought against Carlow for 4 tough sets. Beaver won the first set, 25-23. Carlow won the last 3 sets 20-25, 17-25, and 16-25.
Head Coach, Sean Cleary said, "The heart was there but we just simply fell short tonight."
The Penn State Women's volleyball overall record stands at (5-14). The ladies have a chance to gain a victory this Saturday and they will be hosting Penn State New Kensington, 1:00 p.m.
