Beaver topped by DuBois, 3-2

DUBOIS, Pa.—The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team lost a close road game against PSUAC rivals, Penn State DuBois, Wednesday night, 3-2.
DuBois got the best of Beaver in set one and pulled out a 25-14 win, but Beaver turned the tables on DuBois in set two with a 25-14 win. DuBois answered back in set three, outscoring the Lady Lions 25-16 to make set four a must-win. Beaver fought hard and took a 25-18 win in the fourth to tie the game at 2-2. However, DuBois outscored Beaver by 9 points in the final set (15-6), handing the Lady Lions their third conference loss of the season.
Senior Amanda Mike (Hopewell) led the offense with eight kills aces and eight digs, followed by sophomore Ramiya White (Westland/Wayne Memorial), who tallied up six kills and one dig. Sophomore Kelsie Hallum (Hopewell) finished with 24 assists. On defense, sophomore Heaven Bowman (Houston/Dulles) finished with 24 digs.
Beaver falls to (11-6) overall for the regular season and (3-3) in the PSUAC conference standings.
The Lady Lions will host a Tri-Match on Saturday, Oct. 5, where they will face off against Penn State Shenango at 12 p.m. and CCBC at 4 p.m.
