Beaver Rolls Through Penn State Schuylkill in Impressive Fashion
The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team took home an good conference win against Penn State Schuylkill, giving them an impressive 4-1 in conference record.

McKeesport, PA -- The Penn State Beaver women's volleyball team traveled to McKeesport on Saturday to take on conference opponent Penn State Schuylkill. The Beaver women have been playing really well despite missing one of their leaders, Senior Jenna Petrucci, due to injury. Coming into this game Beaver looks to keep up their consistent play of late as they have theirs eyes set on improving their in conference record.
This looked to be a good match from the start of the first set. Beaver and Schuylkill went back and forth for most of the first set but Beaver really hit their stride near the end of the set and ended up taking the set by a score of 25-19. Beaver was able to carry their momentum into the second set as they dominated Schuylkill. Beaver was outstanding from the service line in this game as well, tallying 22 service aces as a team. They ended up taking the second set by a score of 25-10. The third set Schuylkill put up a tough fight to stay in this game but in the end it wasn't enough as they were unable to out play a Beaver team that looked very organized and focused in this one. The final score of the third set was 25-21 in favor of Beaver as they took the win in this match by a score of three sets to none.
Beaver played very well in this game, looking very organized and determined to take home a win. The team was lead by Freshman Bridgette Woodford, who had 11 service aces, and Freshman Amanda Mike, who had 8 kills, in this impressive victory. The Beaver women now sit with a 9-8 overall record with a 5-1 in conference record. The Beaver girls will play again on Saturday against Penn State Brandywine right after this game.
