Beaver loses to Ohio Eastern 3-2
Lady Lions come out with a match loss of 3-2 to Ohio Eastern.

St. Clairsville, OH - Penn State Beaver Lady Lions traveled to St. Clairsville to take on Ohio Eastern Thursday night for a non-conference match. Taking on Ohio Eastern was tough for the Lady Lions coming out of the match with a loss of 3-2.
In the first set Beaver almost came out with the win but fell at the end with a loss of 22-25. Set 2 Beaver came back strong with a win over Ohio Eastern 25-23. It was a battle for set 3 when Ohio Eastern brought more heat to the table with the win of 25-27, narrowly edging pasr the Lady Lions tough defense. Beaver jumped back into it in set 4 taking over for the win 25-23. Unfortunately, the Lady Lions couldn't bring it back in set 5 despite holding the lead most of the set.
Each set was tight between both teams but set 5 was thrilling. Near the end Beaver came up surely taking the match win against Eastern Ohio up by a score of 14-11, but late errors and a 5 point run by the Panthers resulted in a Beaver loss. Throughout the match, Beaver comitted 10 service errors, playing a large role in their loss this evening.
Freshman, Morgan Cannister (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) and sophomore, Jenna Petrucci (New Castle, PA/Shenango) led the team with 12 and 13 kills respectively, with 81 attempts between just the two of them. Brenda Martinez (El Centro, CA/Southwest) was a standout player as well, making no service errors with 3 aces on the night and 36 assists.
Beaver now rests 4-5 overall. The Lady Lions return back home Sunday, September 13th, to take on Penn State DuBois for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
