MckeesPort, PA--- Penn State Beaver played a double header against Penn State Mont Alto and Penn State York.
In the first game against Mont Alto, Beaver fell short in the first set 25-20. In the second and third set Beaver also lost 25-16, and 25-15. Beaver couldnt find an offensive rhythm, and played quiet and tentative at times. Ryanne "Roxy" Kie (Laguna, NM/Laguna Acoma) led the team with 6 kills, Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA/Sto-Rox) added 4 kills. Miranda Pfeiffer (Freedom, PA/Freedom) led the team with 4 aces.
In the second game of the double header against Penn State York, Beaver lost the first set 25-12. But after losing the first set Beaver found a a rhythm, and got York out of their comfort zone. Beaver came back from being down twice. Beaver went on to win the next three matches 25-14, 25-19, 25-22. Beaver handled adversity well in the second match against York. Natalie Gamble led the team with 10 kills, Ryanne "Roxy" Kie had 7 kills, Mackenzie Keller (Conway, PA/Freedom) had 4 kills, and Brittany Davids (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) had 3 kills.
Penn State Beaver will be home September 24th against rival Penn State Greater Allegheny at 7 p.m.
