Lions Dominate First Half of Season After Defeating Scranton
The Lions defeated Penn State Scranton 81-35 to end the first half of their season undefeated
Monaca, PA - The Lions finished up the first half of conference play today after a big win over Penn State Scranton. Beaver has had a great start this season remaining undefeated to finish the first half of conference play. The Lions dropped 33 points in the first ten minutes of the game. They also only gave up 3 points in those ten minutes to Penn State Scranton. Beaver let Scranton off easy in the second quarter where Penn State Scranton scored 10 points. The Lions also scored 10 points to go into halftime 43-13. It was another close scoring quarter in the third when Beaver dropped 21 points and allowed Scranton to score 18 points. The Lions went into the last quarter with the score at 64-31 and finished the game with the score at 81-35.
First year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) claimed player of the game finishing with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Second year Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) was another top scorer today finishing with 17 points. Logan also had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. First year Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) finished with 12 points, 1 steal, 1 assist, and 3 rebounds.
The Lions head into the winter break undefeated in conference play. The Lions will be back in play January 12 when they travel to take on Penn State Schuylkill. The game begins at 6pm EST.
