Lady Lions take win over Lehigh Valley 59-50
Beaver wins 8th straight game over Lehigh Valley 59-50
Monaca, PA - Beaver took on Penn State Lehigh Valley for their second to last regular season game. The Lady Lions started off the game losing the game 7-0 before going on a 12 point run to take control of the game, 12-7. The quarter finished out 14-11. The second quarter started out as a struggle for both teams as the first points weren't scored until 3 minutes and 15 seconds into the quarter. It wasn't long before Beaver began to run away with the game, taking a 10 point lead over Lehigh. Lehigh eventually got back into to finish the half with Beaver leading 30-22. Right out of the gates to start the third quarter, the Lady Lions came out with their foot on the gas. Beaver held on to their lead and finished out the quarter 46-38. Lehigh had no intentions of allowing Beaver to walk away with an easy win, coming into the fourth quarter with desire. Lehigh continued to fight from start to finish of the quarter however it was already too little too late and the Lady Lions ended victorious, 59-50.
Senior Jimya Chambers had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, and 1 block. Senior Emily Keener had 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist. Senior Mikayla Womer had 9 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.
Following tonight's win, Beaver is now on an 8-game win streak with an overall record of 15-7 and 13-5 in conference. Their next matchup will be against Penn State Fayette on February 17, 2022, at 6 pm EST.
