Lady Lions fall to Me.-Fort Kent in first game of Park Inn Tournament

Monaca, PA -- In their first game of the Park Inn Tip-off Tournament, Beaver fell to Maine Fort Kent, 109-82, in their second game of the season.
In the first two minutes of play, Beaver held a two point lead on Maine Fort Kent with a jump shot made by Khalia Adams (Washington, DC/ Phelps). It didn't last long, just a few seconds later, Fort Kent returned with two points of their own. Adams gained another point for Beaver on a free throw, but Maine Fort Kent rallied against them for 4 minutes making the score 13-3 with 4 mnutes to go in the first quarter. Beaver and Fort Kent went head to head exchanging scoring opportunities. Despite long rallies from Fort Kent, Beaver made many good offensive decisions with key plays came from Adams and Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/ Lincoln). They kept Beaver going throughout the game and the Lady Lions ended the first half down 19 points.
Opening the second half, the Lady Lions scored off of a jumpshot from Adams. Adams then followed with 5 more points (66-46). Beaver kept the streak going with points coming from Borders and Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA/ Trinity). Even though the Lady Lions stuck with them, Fort Kent had the upperhand and delivered, scoring a total of 22 points off of turnovers and 39 rebounds, it was too much for Beaver and they were defeated 109-82.
The Lady Lions were led offensivly by Adams with 29 points, followed by Borders with 23.
The Lady Lions return to action Sunday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. to play in the third place game in the Park Inn Tip-off Tournament.
