Beaver loses to Carlow University 81-74
Pittsburgh, PA--- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions fall short in close out of conference matchup.
On Tuesday, February 10th the Lady Lions found themselves yet again in a tight game with the women's basketball team of Carlow University.
The lady lions came out strong and full of energy applying intense full court pressure defense. Sophomore Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/Lincoln) controlled the half for Beaver contributing a team high 10 points at the half.
Beaver propelled to a 41-38 lead heading into halftime.
Both teams battled back and forth in the second half, but foul trouble left Beaver vulnerable giving Carlow an opportunity to take advantages.
With 10 minute left in the half Carlow positioned themselves with their largest lead of 15 points. Beaver cut the lead but ultimately couldn't manage to withstand the Celtics run. Beaver lost 81-74.
Beavers top performers was Brittney Mineard (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) finished with 19 points, followed by Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA/Trinity) with 16 points and 3 rebounds.
