Beaver falls to Brandywine by 1
Lady Lions lose 73-72
Monaca, Pa---- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions fell for the second time is this conference season on Friday night, losing a close one to PSU Brandywine 73-72. Beaver took a lead early in the first half and led by as much as 12 in the first half before taking a 42-38 lead into the half. Brandywine answered in the second half, taking a lead by as many as 7 before Beaver would battle back and tie the game at 67 with 3:10 left. With 1:11 left, Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) hit a 3-pointer to give Beaver a one point lead. After a Brandywine bucket, Amanda Temple (Avella, Avella) made a lay-up with 25 seconds left as Beaver took back the lead, 72-71. Brandywine would then get the game's final bucket as they got a lay-up with 7 seconds left to give them a one point victory.
For Beaver, Kurtz finished with 20 points and Temple added 10 points and 4 rebounds. Katie Dennis (Hookstown, South Side) also had 10 points and 4 rebounds while Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool, East Liverpool) scored 10 points and had 6 assists.
Beaver is now 12-4 overall and 8-2 in the PSUAC and will play again tomorrow at home when they host PSU Mont Alto at 1pm.
