Softball Drops Game Two To Brandywine
Dubois, PA -- Beaver drops their second game of the day to Penn State Brandywine, falling into the losing bracket.
After a tight win over Schuylkill earlier in the day, Beaver looked to keep the win streak alive, but faltered, giving up a single run in the bottom of the second. Beaver then settled down on defense behind freshman, lefty, Natalie Larkin. Both teams were held scoreless through the next two innings (1-0). In the bottom of the fifth, Beaver struggled on defense comitting two errors resulting in a 4-run inning for Brandywine.
Trailing 5-0 going into the seventh, Beaver looked to get the bats going late as they loaded the bases and then had a run walked in during Tara McFadden's at bat to avoid the shutout. Unfortunately they couldn't generate a two-out rally to get back into the game and fell by a final score of 5-1.
The loss places them into the loser's bracket to face Penn State Schuylkill for the second time this weekend tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
