Beaver Struggles Against Mount Aloysius
Myrtle Beach, SC -- Beaver struggles with Mount Aloysius, giving up 11 hits in the game.
After a scoreless first, Beaver gave up 5 runs in the next two innings, while struggling to get just one hit which came from the bat of Dina Cable in the third.
Down 5-0, the Lady Lions were able to hold Mount Aloysius scoreless in the fourth and gave up just one run in the fifth, but were only able to generate another two hits. Cable had her second hit of the game in the fifth followed by Carley Schoreder who also singled, but Beaver couldn't capitalize on the base runners, remaining scoreless through six.
In the bottom of the seventh, Beaver was able to get runners into scoring position as Cable had her third hit in the game, but it wasn't enough of a spark to get a run on the board for Beaver as they fell by a final score of 7-0, to fall to 1-2 on the week.
Offensively, Dina Cable was the stand out, going 3 for 3. She was followed by Schroeder and Jessica Hughes who each had a hit in the game. In the circle to start the game was Vanessa Jackson who threw five innings, giving up 6 hits. She was relieved by Natalie Larkin who faced the final nine batters giving up the final run of the game.
Beaver returns to action tomorrow as they play their first of three games in the day at 9:30 a.m. against Lincoln Trail College.
