Beaver's Season Comes to an End In Quarter-Finals

New Kensington, PA – Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer hit the road this afternoon to face off against Penn State New Kensington I the first round of the PSUAC soccer playoffs. The winner of this game will head to Penn State Lehigh Valley for a semifinal match.

Beaver and New Kensington played against each other earlier this week in both of their last regular season games. The result of this game was a 3-0 win for New Kensington which earned them a home playoff game. Both teams came out playing hard and there were multiple chances for both sides. The game was stuck at 0-0 until the 24^th minute when New Kensington was able to score two goals back-to-back to turn the game on its head. Ten minutes later New Kensington was able to strike a third time to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. Beaver came out to play the second half like they had nothing to lose trying to throw players forward to create chances to get back into the game. Because of this Beaver left a lot of space behind their defense and New Kensington was able to capitalize and grab the next three goals of the match, making the score 6-0. In the 65^th minute, fourth year player Joe Saldivar (Darrington, PA) scored a goal in his last career game for Beaver. New Kensington was able to grab one more goal before the final whistle to win the game 7-1.
