Monaca PA – Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer hosted Washington Adventist in an out of conference match. Beaver was celebrating All-Star Appreciation Fest this weekend to recognize the fantastic faculty and staff on our campus.
The match started with some exciting back and forth action with both teams trying to play their forwards in on goal. Both sides were also defending really well and not allowing many chances from inside the box. As the teams settled in Washington Adventist was doing much better at keeping possession of the ball and being more patient in the attack. This resulted in a few counterattack chances for Beaver, but they were not able to capitalize. Beaver's defense was doing well defending the open play attack from Washington Adventist, but where the Shock found success was on corner kicks where they grabbed two goals before the end of the half. Going into the second half Washington Adventist had more of the attack which was wearing down the Beaver defense. Before the game ended Washington Adventist was able to get six more goals making the final score 8-0.
Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer travels to Penn State Mont Alto for their next game on October 19th at 3:00 pm.
