Close Match-up ends in Loss for Beaver, Fayette wins 81-80
Exciting second half leaves Beaver with loss in PSUAC match-up
Beaver, PA – Penn State Beaver Lions faced off against Penn State Fayette in a Basketball match on January 25, 2025. First-year Ny'zir Dix (Eastern Shore, VA) scored the first points for Beaver 19 minutes and 8 seconds into the first half. Beaver would pull ahead 4–0 with additional points scored by First-year Ny'zir Dix (Eastern Shore, VA) before Fayette would start claiming points for themselves. Penn State Beaver would keep a close with La Fayette in the first match until with only 12 minutes left in the match, la Fayette would pull ahead by a significant number.
Penn State Fayette would keep their intense lead until the second match when Penn State Beaver would start regaining lost ground. Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA), Second-year Jermaine Knaff (Quincy, IL), & Second-year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) would help bring Beaver's score up catching up to Penn Satte Fayette who had 79 points. First-year Ronyell Coston (Eastern Shore, VA) would make a free throw shot bringing Penn State Beaver ahead of La Fayette at 80–79. However, with only mere seconds left in the game, Penn State Fayette was able to score 2 additional points, winning the game 81-80.
Second-year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) would lead the game for Beaver earning 20 points for Beaver with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He would be followed by Third-year Trevor Franklin (Stafford, VA) who gained 15 points for Beaver with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and First-year Ny'zir Dix (Eastern Shore, VA) who also gained 15 points for Beaver with 3 rebounds, 0 assists, and 0 steals. Overall, Beaver would score 18–22 from the free throw line at 81.8% and 27–63 from the field yielding 42.9% success.
