Overtime game leads to Beaver loss against University of Cincinnati-Clermont
Monaca, PA - Today the Men's Basketball team took on the University of Cincinnati-Clermont in Day 2 of the Men's Annual Holiday Tournament. A tough game led to an overtime battle and ended in a loss for Beaver with a final score of 103-90. This game had a lot of ups and downs with great plays being made on both sides and an Beaver made and impressive push to send it into overtime. With Beaver being down by 2 in the first half with a score of 38-36 in favor of UC Clermont, Beaver fought hard and tied the game with a buzzer beater in the second outscoring their opponent 47-45.
First year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) and fourth year Chris Green (Washington, D.C.) were both top scorers in today's game both finishing with 29 points. C. Green finished with 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 steals. A. Green finished with 1 rebound, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Third year Matt Brown (Upland, CA) finished with a double-double today having 12 rebounds and 14 points.
This game was Beaver's final game going into the break and will be one of their last non-conference games of the season. Going 0-2 this Holiday Tournament, the Men's Basketball team will now have some time to rest, recover, and regroup before heading into the second half of their season where they will need to make a hard push to get themselves on the conference playoff schedule.
