Beaver wins close game against Brandywine 53-50
Beaver takes home late game thriller over Brandywine
Monaca, PA - The Lions took on Penn State Brandywine in a conference matchup tonight. Beaver opened the game by scoring the first 2 points of the night. The Lions took a commanding 10 point lead late in the first half, leading 16-5 with 8 minutes left. Things quickly began to tighten up as Brandywine went on a 15-2 scoring run tying ht game up 20-20 with less than a minute left in the half. Beaver ended up drawing a foul late and knocked down 2 free throws shot by Sophomore Nathan Coonfare, finishing the half 24-22. The second half remained tight as neither team could break free from the other. Brandywine took their first lead of the game with 12 minutes left, leading 35-34. Brandywine remained in the lead for 4 minutes up 45-41 before tactical subtitutions were made and Beaver bgan to regain control of the game. The Lions went from being down 4 to up by 5 points with less than 30 seconds on the clock. Brandywine managed to bring the lead down to 3 points but were unsuccessful in taking the win from Beaver, as the game closed out, 53-50.
Senior Jeremy Redwine had 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Senior Devon Johnson had 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assist. Senior Izaiah Dickerson had 12 points and 4 rebounds.
