Beaver comes up short to Mont Alto, 63-52

Monaca, Pa. – The Penn State Beaver men's basketball team fell to PSUAC rival Penn State Mont Alto 63-52 in Wednesday night's home game.
Topping Beaver's scoring list was junior guard John Foster (Austin/Del Valle), earning a game-high 25 points as well as five rebounds for the game. Following Foster was PSUAC Player of the Week sophomore forward Andrew Brady (Alliance/Marlington), who earned a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds.
1st half: The Lions found themselves in an 11-point hole, thanks to a 15-4 run by Mont Alto in the first nine minutes of the game, but then cut the deficit to only 6 points quickly after (15-9). Mont Alto's defense kept the pressure on the Lions as they trailed 38-21 at halftime.
2nd half: Mont Alto kept a decent lead over Beaver for the early portion of the second half, but the Lions battled back and cut Mont Alto's lead to only 8 points at 6:29 (53-45). However, Beaver couldn't overcome the early deficit and fell to Mont Alto with a final score of 63-52.
Box Score Highlights: Beaver outrebounded Mont Alto 36-22.
With today's loss against Mont Alto, Beaver is now (6-4) in the conference standings with a 10-6 overall season record. The Lions are on the road in their next game against conference rival at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Friday, Jan. 25. Game time is at 8:00 p.m.
