Six Basketball Players Earn PSUAC All-Conference Honors
Monaca, PA -- Six Beaver basketball players earn PSUAC All-Conference honors.
After just missing a playoff spot this season, the men's basketball team finished with a record of 7-9 in the conference. Despite missing the post season, two players were honored with conference honors. First is senior, Lamont Wright. Lamont lead the scoring on the team this season with 511 points averaging just over 21 points per game. He also averaged just over 4 rebounds and assists per game while scoring his 1000th career point in January. Following him was sophomore, Eric Gallupe. Eric finished second in scoring on the team with 355 points, averaging 13.9 per game while also collecting an average of 6.5 rebounds per game.
On the women's side, four players earned PSUAC All-Conference honors. Earned honorable mention award were junior, Asia Borders and sophomore, Brittany Jackson. Borders put up 311 points this season to date, averaging 12.4 per game while also collecting 6.4 rebounds per game. Jackson wasn't far behind with 269 points to date, averaging almost 13 points per game and collecting 7.5 rebounds per game. Leading the Lady Lions were the senior duo of Khalia Adams and Morgan Kurtz. Kurtz is second in scoring on the team this season with 428 points averaging almost 17 points per game with 4.7 rebounds per game. Adams leads all scorers on the roster this season with 480 points for an average of 18.5 points per game while also averaging about 3.5 rebounds and assists per game. Both Adams and Kurtz have also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in their careers here at Penn State Beaver.
These Lady Lions, and the rest of the squad, will continue their season tomorrow as they continue their quest for their fourth consecutive PSUAC Championship.
