Nittany Lions win first home game of the season
Beaver wins, 75-64
Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver Nittany Lions take down the Division III, La Roche Redhawks.
In the Lions first game at home, they opened the game with a lead for only a few minutes before the Redhawks scored at the 18:02 mark. Both teams played neck and neck pushing the ball to each end of the court. The Lions maintained a lead throughout the half and even gained a lead of 10 at the 4:22 mark when the Lions' Rob Agurs (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Hills) scored a free throw bringing the score to 36-26. In the last four minutes the Lions kept their scoring efforts up, ending the half up 13 points, 43-30. Leading the score in the first half was Agurs who put up 19 points followed by Chris Weathers (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) with 9. Tashaun Goode (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) of the Lions also had great rebounding effort grabbing 8.
In the second half, the Lions continued to dominate the court keeping the lead by at least five points. The Lions won the game 75-64 after the Redhawks final attempt at the 0:18 mark failed. The Lions' Goode led the team with 11 points in the half followed by Nick Miller (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls) who had 8.
The Lions face Penn State New Kensington in their first PSUAC game of the season on Tuesday, December 3rd.
