Men Dominate Hazelton
Houghton puts up 21 in win

Monaca, PA- The Men's Basketball Team of Penn State Beaver (9-4, 5-1 PSUAC) played tonight against Penn State Hazelton (Hazelton, PA).
Tyler Care started the game with a three pointer giving Beaver the early 3-0 lead. The men lead by as many as 8-2 before Hazelton went on a 8-0 run to take a 10-8 advantage. A Tony Houghton (Perry/Pittsburgh, PA) three pointer gave Beaver a 13-12 run but after an easy layup by Hazelton, Beaver was down again by one (14-13). After a Chris Weathers (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) free throw to tie the game at 14, Beaver went on a 6-0 run to take the lead back (20-14). Beaver dominated the rest of the first half, going in with a 43-30 lead.
The second half pretty much continued on from the first, as Beaver gradually added on to their lead. The lead was as much as 31 (70-39) at 10:01 after a Darius Prince (West Mifflin/Pittsburgh, PA) steal and layup. The men went on to win 85-59.
For the night, Houghton led the team with 21 points, followed by Tyler Care (Lincoln Park/Hopewell, PA) with 16, and Weathers with 12. Beaver shot 51.6% from the field and 53.3% from three point range.
Beaver's next game will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 against Penn State Lehigh Valley (Center Valley, PA).
